The Shortlister RFI

Reimagining the RFP process with a one-to-many approach

Find the RFI in the Admin section of your account.  This critical component of the Shortlister – Vendor – Consultant relationship takes a deeper dive into your company, your products and the information in your Matching Survey.  Our users rely on this repository of information being complete and up to date when considering vendors for a client.

Once your account is live in our system, we encourage you to prioritize completion of the RFI.  While completing the RFI does require an investment of time initially, it will save considerable time moving forward for both you and our consultant users.  Additionally, not having certain information complete negatively effects scoring in our proprietary algorithm.

Your RFI data is available to broker and consultant subscribers, which means they can access much of the required information without going through the usual, full RFP process. However, if you want to prevent any broker or consultant subscribers from accessing your data, the Primary Admin on your account can block their access by selecting the broker firm in the “Blacklist” section of your RFI. If a company that has been blacklisted wants to view your RFI, they can request access, and the Primary Admin will have the opportunity to approve or deny the request.

When a consultant user wants to include you in a project or review your RFI data and it isn’t complete, it can turn into a frantic rush to get done or even a missed opportunity.

Top 5 Reasons you need to complete and review your RFI answers annually:

1.  This data is used as part of a consultant's due diligence to consider which vendors to include in the initial stages of a selection (Funding history, for example)
2.  Data recency factors into Shortlister’s Top Vendor selections featured on our public site
3.  Employer and consultant buyers consider this a major benefit of Shortlister and are put off if your data isn’t included in their convenient comparison tool
4.  An updated RFI ensures your free listing on Shortlister’s public site has the best position possible
5.  It’s better than the old way…filling out multiple 1,000+ question RFIs annually for each of our 45 consultant partners!!!

Where to Start

Wondering where to start?  You’ll want to begin with the General section of the RFI as it covers the most important information when first evaluating vendor options.

Maintaining Accuracy

Because the RFI database is a critical component of the Shortlister platform, you’ll want to ensure your information is kept up to date.  Consider assigning a specific team member the responsibility of maintaining your RFI data by adding it to their calendar for a quarterly check up and annual review each year.

Resources

Add team members with Admin access.  Once you’ve added the user, our system will send an email to the new user for access.

You can also download your RFI to share it with colleagues offline.  Once you’ve collected answers from your team, you can then simply copy and paste the answers into your RFI on the Shortlister platform.
